Makart Room
The Makart Room, on the first floor of Upper Belvedere is named after Vienna´s "painter prince" at the time when "Ring Straße" was being constructed, Hans Makart (1840-1884), because his paintings hung in this room. His immense painting "Bacchus and Ariadne" is displayed together with "the five senses" series and a work by Anselm Feuerbach (1829-1880).
